Shri Naveen Patnaik, the most popular Chief Minister of Odisha, who not only enjoys the support of people in the State, but is revered by people across the country, is a devotee of Mahaprabhu Jagannath. He used to visit Puri on various occasions including the Ratha Jatra to pay obeisance to the deities. He has taken a series of measures to develop the surroundings of Srimandir and make it a world class tourist destination.
