BJD, BJD Everywhere – Odisha salutes Naveen Power

In its long and most talked political history, Odisha has seen the rise and fall of several regional parties but none can be compared with BJD in terms of success or longevity. On December 26, last year it celebrated its silver jubilee, thus becoming not only the most successful but also the longest surviving regional party in Odisha.

The phenomenal success of the BJD, which has turned into an election-winning machine, is singularly responsible for the emergence of Hon’ble CM Naveen Patnaik, its supreme leader and five-time chief minister of the state, as one of the most powerful regional leaders of the country.

Asserting that the party does not have a “Boss in Delhi”, our CM Naveen Patnaik has said that his party will continue to work for people of the State. It has also pledged to reduce its poverty rate to 10 per cent in the next five years. UN World Food Programme also lauded Odisha’s effort to reduce poverty.

Starting from sponsoring for Hockey India to distributing health cards among beneficiaries, CM Naveen Patnaik never failed to take a bow.

Sports:

Odisha Government sponsors and promotes Hockey India (Men and Women), in the biggest sports sponsorship. From making their jerseys to giving hand in the matches, it always encourages sports. From grassroots programs to state-of-the-art infrastructure, Odisha paved the way for a brighter future for Indian hockey, only because of the ruling supremo.

 Disaster Management:

When it comes to disaster management, Odisha’s name will pop up on the screen. As stereotypically Odisha is known as the Cyclone state of the country, CM Shri Naveen Patnaik also strikes it back every time with his perfect disaster management team. Odisha’s disaster management is recently hailed by UN World Food Programme.

The Naveen Patnaik Government not only given all the importance to sports and politics, but also worked for women empowerment. Mission Shakti is the biggest word in the history of women empowerment in Odisha.

Mission Shakti was launched in 2001 to bolster the holistic development of women but has over the years become a revolution and has today established itself as the hallmark of women empowerment and autonomy. There are 6.02 lakh self-help groups(SHGs) comprising of 70 lakh members organised under Mission Shakti across rural and urban areas of the state. Mission Shakti has contributed significantly towards providing livelihood opportunities for women, removing structural barriers, reforming attitudes and establishing infrastructure where women have equal opportunities to contribute, benefit and advance their economic status. The current initiatives of Mission Shakti have played a crucial role in strategizing financial future of women SHGs in Odisha.
